dolomitesOne of my best trip – few days in Provincia autonoma di Bolzano-Alto Adige, Italy. This area is the particular part of Italy in several senses.

If you are not acquainted with the history of the region, arrived at Bolzano you make a point on German or Ladin language around, also lot’s of German and Austrian dishes and drinks in menus of restaurants so on. The first feature is political and historical basis of the region.

Just few facts: Till 1919 First World War Bolzano-Alto Adige was under Austria’s authority, only after Treaty of Saint-Germain-en-Laye the territory was attached to ItalianRepublic.

dolomitesFinally Italian authority made in 1991 few concessions giving the particular status to region: additional finding, three official languages, possibility to have own Parliament that is dealing with local precedents, safety of cultural difference. Summing up, the region is well-developed in economic and industrial meanings.

And the second feature – is amazing nature. This land is famous of its Dolomite Alps. And it is extremely awesome. The special part of West Alps – massif Dolomite, has a length near 150 km and consists of mineral dolomite that why has the unique pink color.

dolomite alpsAt 2009 Dolomite were included in World Heritage. It is the best skiing region, Cortina d’Ampezzo forms to prestige group of the best Italian resorts “Best of Alps”. 500 km ski track, lots of ski lifts and unforgettable impressions.

International population allows enjoying different kinds of cuisine, include German, Austrian and Italian. Also you will find here quite popular dishes with deer meat. All cafes offer Apple strudels, and the best Italian coffee.
